I've ordered carry-out from here multiple times and have not been disappointed once. I usually get the Sesame Chicken because it is amazing, but last night I got the Sweet-n-Sour Chicken...it was outstanding!! Their fried rice and egg rolls are great. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because sometimes the service isn't great. The woman at the counter doesn't have the best customer service skills. I've never stayed here for dinner so I cam't comment on that, but I highly recommend for carry-out. When I want chinese, this is the place I go!

My family orders take out from here all the time and I go in there a lot as well and I love the food. The service is great when you dine in and the portions are generous. I've taken several people there and they've all been back so people who say they don't like it must think they are critics on chopped. I also LOVE their egg rolls, especially with the plum sauce. Never ever had a a problem here and to feed two people with leftovers it was like 20 bucks which is a lot cheaper than most places we go-especially PF Changs

I guess this is what you call a place that if its the only close Chinese heck why not. It wasn't too bad. If you want spicy make sure you say extra spicy. Chicken fried Rice is bland. and the egg roll was good. Ive had better at other places, but it wasn't bad. I'd try it again.

Didn't finish my meal. Just ordered carry-out from Wing Lee. After reading a couple of good reviews, it sounded like the right choice for my mother and I tonight. I think frozen chineese would have been more satisfying. Secondly, the lady who took my order refused to substitute a crab rangoon for the eggroll that came with my combination (I asked because of the multiple poor ratings their eggrolls received here on Yelp). I'm paying $10 for a combo and you can't substitute one cheapie for another? Ok. So customer service sucks. As for the food; General Tsao Chicken- Soggy. I also ordered it extra spicy and it was not even mildly spiced. The peices of chicken were too large. The sauce likely came from a bottle or can. The eggroll was just as others on here have described- poor. Cashew Chicken- Or should I say cashew vegetables. A miniscule amount of meat in this dish. Flavor was ok. Not worth paying $10 for vegetables soaked in brown gravy. I will not be back.

I disagree with the suggestion that this place is inconsistent. I've been eating at Wing Lee for 30-odd years, and it has always remained one of my favorites. I grew up on their Almond Chicken, but Sesame Chicken is a new favorite as well. Egg rolls are fantastic. And they do a steady stream of carryout business. This is a safe bet for reliably good Chinese food.

I absolutely love Wing Lee! Their food is delicious. One thing I was disappointed with was the Crab Rangoon, though. There wasn't as much filling as I would hope there would be. :/ I felt like I was eating more wrapper, less filling.

I work down the street and frequently order here. I always go for my favorite-General Tsao. Although they could make it a tad spicier for my taste, no real complaints here. Wing Lee is very clean and it's great that they have free Wifi with the password on the tables for customers. The waitstaff are friendly and quick. One time as I came in to grab my order, I saw one of the kitchen staff peeling snow peas on a table in one of the banquet room. Talk about fresh lol.

I've been getting Chinese food from Wing Lee for years, and I'm sorry to say I have watched the food quality steadily decline. :( The steak kow (one of my favorites) used to be full of tender beef and veggies. Now the meat - when you find a piece, is tough and stringy. Over the last 2 years it's really gone down hill. Where I used to pop in there once a month at least for dinner, I'm now only stopping by once or twice a year. Basically it's all pretty bland. It is served extremely hot though, so even a carry-out is hot when you open the container. The service is always top-notch, I've never had a complaint with that. I highly recommend you dine it though - If you order a combination dinner (order by number) and if you dine in then soup, dinner rolls and cookies are included. If you order the same dish as a carry out... well, you get a much smaller portion & the soup, dinner roll and cookies are extra. So you may as well get what you've paid for and dine in.

It's always difficult to find a consistent Chinese restaurant that's close to the house. I've tried a number in the area and most are just OK. Not terrible but not great. I guess that's why Pei Wei and P.F. Changs are popular. They might not be the best or most authentic chinese restaurants but they are relatively consistent and better than average. I was hopeful that Wing Lee would break the mold of average local chinese fare. Unfortunately there isn't a lot to like here. We ordered Chicken LoMein and Chicken with Peapods. We ended up with Chow instead of Lo. When we called and they didn't offer to remake the dish they only offered to boil us some LoMein noodles that we could mix in with the Chow Mein. Now I know the dishes aren't that different but I just thought that was bad form. To make matters worse the food was pretty terrible in general. The sauce was clumpy and slimy, just way over starched. The chicken was a bit narly and the peapods were over cooked and soggy. The egg roll was no better. This was also way over cooked. There was almost nothing identifiable on the inside. The bean sprouts were so deflated they looked like corn silk or something. Needless to say this is one restaurant I would recommend avoiding.

If you are looking for great Americanized Chinese food look here. Its nothing fancy but its great comfort food. I have had almost everything on the menu and never been disappointed. I will say the egg rolls aren't the best I've ever had but the rest of the food really makes up for it. My recommendation: try the Almond Chicken (#5 combo)

I just moved to the neighborhood and was looking for a good Chinese restaurant. A friend suggested Wing Lee and I am so happy that she did. The cashew chicken was soooooo good!!!! My husband had the sweet and sour chicken and it was amazing as well....I think I have a new favorite Chinese place =)

This place has been in the neighborhood as long as I have, since 1978. Great food, reasonably priced eat-in or take out. It's not the closest to where I live, but I switched to Wing Lee because my usual place started cutting back on ingredients.

Been going here for years! They have amazing almond chicken, and the portions are great for the prices and meal combos offered. I also recently tried their online ordering on a whim, and it was quick and went without a hitch! Very forward-thinking for your little neighborhood Chinese place; I was pretty impressed!

I usually visit the China Wok but they were closed one Saturday evening and I figured I would go back to my old stomping ground and eat at Wing Lee. I used to come to this place for years after church at St. Mathis down the street. I was very dissatisfied and disappointed. Two out of three carry out orders were wrong and all the items were reheated and NOTHING was fresh! I remembered this being one of the best Chinese places around. I'm not sure if they are under new ownership but the food was definitely not what I remember from 20+ years ago. We ordered lo mein with rice noodles and got egg noodles. Ordered orange chicken and got extrenely dry almond boneless with some kind of sweet and sour sauce. The third entree (cashew chicken) was right but the chicken was very rubbery and seemed frozen/ reheated or both.. We paid near $35.00 as well which seemed very high, especially because the food was subpar at best. I will continue to stick to what I know (China Wok) and will never revisit my old favorite Wing Lee unless maybe they change ownership.

By far the best Chinese food around. I used to live down the road and would come in for their General Tao's Chicken all the time. Now that I moved across town I still come over to have it. Everyone I have told about Wing Lee who has visited always raves about the food and has become their regular place too. I have never had a bad meal here.

Very good Chinese American restaurant. I never had a bad meal here. To the people complaining about ordering Thai food go to a Thai restaurant. The general tso is great good flavor. Look. If your looking for a 30 dollar a plate high end Asian feast. Go elsewhere. This is a good place to just order Chinese food when the craving hits you.

Best Chinese Restaurant in the area! Portions are huge and the egg rolls are phenomenal! I've had the general tso's chicken and sweet and sour chicken and bother are very good!

food - mixed between fresh & caned, but it's rather tasteless. i ordered a dish medium to spicy & it was served mild. Several vegetables don't have the "spots" removed. And yes, I know the difference between bad spots & brown spots. Service - attentive, at one point we were one of two tables. I'll used to go every couple of months. Now I'll not be returning.

Worst meal I have ever had! First of all, the woman at the counter was texting on her iPhone constantly. I ordered a very easy Thai entree. I waited for 10 minutes, the same iPhone girl came out and said "you wanted chicken, right?". I said "yes" then waited 5 more minutes. I added a bag of shrimp chips. When I got to the car I decided to try the chips...I immediately spit them out. I went back in and got a new bag. I drive all the way home, opened my take out container to the most disgusting looking food. The chicken looked totally raw, there were vegetables in there that didn't belong, the sauce was like a cream colored gravy..So gross! I also noticed there was NO rice. I threw the whole thing in the garbage!

We did carry out hubby and myself. Wanted something with variety so we got the two person meal. Which was around $20 for. Amazing! Will be returning again soon.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
